UK Tier 4 Student’s Dependant visa guideline.


The following student can bring their dependant to the UK:
 • Sponsored by a university in a course NQF level 7 or higher for a period of one year and more
• If the course is sponsored by the state it must be above 6 months or longer.
 Dependent is defined as:
 • The husband, wife or partner
•The domestic partner or same sex
•Child under the age of 18 years old
The following documents are required to apply for student dependant Visa: • According to the UKBA guideline you must show that you can live in the without the help from the public fund.
If you are a new student and if your course is:
For courses 9 months or longer: £4050 for each dependant.
For courses less than 9 months: £450 for each dependant for each month of your course
Example 2: New student with wife and two children, 3-year degree course
Maintenance money for each dependant: £4050
For 3 dependants: £4050 x 3 = £12,150 total
Example 3: Student who qualifies for reduced maintenance with wife and two children, 3-year degree
Maintenance money for each dependant: £900
For 3 dependants: £900 x 3 = £2700 total
• 2 passport size photographs, which must comply with the image guideline provided by the UKBA.
 • Current passport
 • Any other passports or visas that they have used to come to the UK in the past.
• Proof that they are your dependant - for example, marriage certificate for your husband or wife, birth certificate for children
•All the documents must be translated to English (see translation requirements)


•If your children are 16 or over, you also required to provide further documents , the list of the documents can be found at  paragraph 102 onwards of the UKBA PBS Dependants policy guidance (PDF - 360KB).
•All the documents must be originals.
